Description of the flag

Austrian Airlines (official name Austrian Airlines AG) is an airline from Austria and it is currently a subsidiary of Lufthansa. Since July 1, 2012, all flights of Austrian Airlines are operated by subsidiary Tyrolean Airways under the brand name "Austrian". Austrian Airways was established as OELAG (Österreichische Luftverkehrs AG, not to be confused with the original Olag established in 1923 which was also absorbed in 1939 by Lufthansa with the annexation of Austria by Germany) through the merger of Air Austria and Austrian Airways and began operations on 30 September 1957.
