The coat of arms of Orašje is prescribed by Decision Odluka o grbu općine Orašje, adopted on 31 March 2011 by the Municipal Assembly and published on 1 April 2011 in the Municipal official gazette Službeni glasnik općine Orašje, No. 2 (text).
The coat of arms is described in the Statutory Decision amending the Municipal Statutes Odluka o izmjenama i dopunama Statuta Općine Orašje, adopted on 28 April 2011 by the Municipal Assembly and published on 29 April 2011 in Službeni glasnik općine Orašje, No. 3 (text).

The details of the adoption process are reported in the Minutes of the Municipal Assembly Zapisnik sa 27.sjednice Općinskoga vijeća Orašje, dated 31 March 2011 (text).
In 2006 the Municipality decided to run a public contest for a coat of arms by Decision Odluka o raspisivanju javnog natječaja za izradu idejnog rješenja grba općine Orašje, published in Službeni glasnik općine Orašje, No. 9.
In 2011 the Municipality decided to resume the process that had been interrupted because the Assembly could not decide between the two "final" proposals that had been proposed to the Assembly by the Commission appointed to do the work. A Subcommittee of the Assembly was tasked to review the reports issued in 2006 by the Commission by Resolution Zaključak o nastavku postupka izbora grba općine Orašje, adopted on 17 February 2011 by the Municipal Assembly and published on 18 February 2011 in Službeni glasnik općine Orašje, No. 1 (text).

The coat of arms is described in Article 7 of the Statutes as follows:

The coat of arms of the Municipality of Orašje is in a shield shape. The edge of the shield is goldish colored.
In its top part colored red is the white isnscription "ORAŠJE", below which is goldish colored through the entire width the wattle [the triple wattle ornament], and below it through the entire width, a bridge colored blue is depicted. Below the bridge is river Sava on which the entire Municipality of Orašje lays. In the base of the coat of arms, in tirangular shape, is drawn a green plain, edged on the left with ears and on the right site with a feather.

The Decision further explains the symbolics of the arms as follows: the watlle is stated to represent folk art, the bridge symbolizes the connection between people and nations, the wavy lines are for the Sava. The green triangle represents the lowlands and prosperity. The corn ear represents the first farmers' union in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the feather the first primary school.
