Name: Mainzer Ruder-Gesellschaft von 1898 e.V.
Located in: Mainz
Established: 21 January 1898, actually on 14 April 1962 by a merger of former clubs.
On 20 December 1950 the clubs Mainzer RC 1903 and Mainzer RC "Fortuna" merged, forming the Mainzer RC 1898 e.V.. This club merged with Mainzer RG 1902 on 14 April 1962, forming the current club. In 1965 the rowing squad of ZDF (2nd German TV) joined.
It is a plain white flag divided by a thin dark-blue saltire. The flag has a border of alternating blue and white stripes, but not at the hoist. In the white fields are dark blue capital letters "M"(top), "R"(hoist), "G" (fly) and "1898" (bottom). The flag has a white canton completely superimposing the saltires upper hoist bar. In the canton are red figures of the city's coat of arms.

The white flag was parted by a thin blue saltire with blue inscriptions on every quarter as follows: "M."(top), "R."(hoist), "CL."(fly) and "1903"(bottom). On centre in a blue shield twere he city arms in counterchanged tinctures. On top, fly and bottom was a bordure, 11-fold parted of yellow and blue.

The cross bar at upper hoist was completely covered by a white canton separated by red borderlines from the rest, charged with two red oars in saltire and and red applications on every quarter as follow: red 6-spokes wheel (top and bottom), "18" hoist) and "98"(fly).

It was an 8-stripes flag parted by horizontal stripes alternating of red and white. The canton was white parted by a thin black saltire with black inscriptions on any quarter as follows: "K" (top), "R" (hoist), "G" (fly) and "1880" (bottom). The canton has a square smaller dark blue canton charged with a white scallop.

There was a white canton with blue edges parted b a thin blue saltire with blue inscriptions on every quarter as follows: "W"(top), "S"(hoist), "V"(fly) and "M"(bottom), beneath annexed was a white rectangle with blue edges and blue inscription "1911".
