Aspect ratio of the flags: 2: 3
The symbol in the flag from 2006 was 
graphically improved and officially declared the governorate's coat of arms on 
August 22, 2010. In 2016 it then appeared, again slightly changed, in the flag, 
the field of which is now shown in a darker green.
The flag in the governor's 
office differs from the official flag variant from 2016 in that the coat of arms 
is not in a yellow circle, but, like the inscription, directly on the green 
flag. The design of the coat of arms on the flag also deviates from the official 
pattern in other ways.

The flag from 2006 
(eg-daqa1.gif) shows a white cogwheel within a yellow circle, inside red papyrus 
framed by also red leaves.

Even before 2006, the exact dates of the 
use of these flags are not known, there were two flags of the governorate of al-Daqahliyah, 
which were clearly forerunners of the later flags from 2006 and 2010 can be 
seen.
