Presentation of Capavenir-Vosges

The municipality of Capavenir-Vosges (8,862 inhabitants in 2017; 2,837 ha) was established on 31 December 1995 as the merger of the former municipalities of Thaon-les-Vosges (7,195 inh.; 1,170 ha), Girmont (993 inh.; 1,273 ha) and Oncourt (185 inh.; 394 ha).

Flag of Capavenir-Vosges

Capavenir-Vosges uses two flags (photo, photo), one white with the municipal logo;, and the other white with the coat of arms. The field of the arms is azure with a representation of the arms of Thaon-les-Vosges derivated from the logo of the former municipality, and in chief the arms of Girmont and of Oncourt.
Thaon-les-Vosges has canting arms, "Azure a golden horsefly [taon]".
