Located in Nara City Nara Prefecture and established in 1969. The embroidered ceremonial flag has bluish-purple background with a gold emblem and horizontally written gold kanji university name in gold fringe. The university flag has white background with a bluish purple emblem and horizontally written bluish purple kanji university name. (Source) The university emblem is a combination of the initials N and U of NARA UNIVERSITY and is an important center of visual communication. While taking into account modern sensibilities and internationality, it symbolizes the harmony between people, Japan and the world, with intelligence and elegance befitting an academic institution, and with a tradition reminiscent of a coat of arms.
