Coat of arms

Shield Gules; a 5-point star Or; in chief a goshawk Or lined Sable, holding an inescutcheon Azure, charged with five plates in quincunx, in his claws; in base two overlapping triangles Vert, in front of them a can Argent, superimposed by a wheat ear Or and a corn cob Or, leafed Argent, in saltire. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "PICO DA PEDRA".
Meaning:
The star is an attribute of Our Lady of Delight, the local patron saint, the triangles are probably representing peaks (Port.: picos) of mountains and thus canting. Goshawk, and quina, are local symbols of the Azores. The other charges are symbolising agriculture.
