Description of the flag

A nice photo of a banner of the arms of Washington University in St. Louis (Missouri), USA, hoisted on a fixed flagpole, can be seen at www.artsci.wustl.edu/~lbulawsk/images/bannerflag_opj.jpg. The arms, which are based on those of President Washington, are Argent two bars Gules in chief three mullets and in base three fleurs-de-lys Vert, over all an open book proper inscribed "Per veritatem vis."
