Introduction: Colorado Rockies Franchise

The Colorado Rockies began in 1991 when a Major League Baseball (MLB) expansion franchise was given to Denver, Colorado. In August of 1993 the Colorado Rockies played their first game in the National League (NL) West division at Shea Stadium against the New York Mets - a game the Rockies lost 3-0. At their first home game four days later at Mile High Stadium the Rockies beat the Montreal Expos (now the Washington Nationals) 11-4. The game was played before 80,227 fans, the largest crowd ever to see a single regular-season Major League Baseball game up to that time. The next year the Rockies moved to their own stadium and have played at Coors Field ever since.
It wasn't until 2007 that "the Rox" would earn their first NL-West Pennant. In a best-of-seven series the West Division champion Arizona Diamondbacks faced the wild card Colorado Rockies, both West Division teams. The Rockies swept the series in four games straight to win their first ever pennant, extending a 17-1 season to 21-1 in the process. In that year the Rockies advanced all the way to the World Series, only to be swept 4-0 themselves by the Boston Red Sox. The Blake Street Bombers, as hard core fans have named the Rockies, continue to strive for their first World Championship.
It should be noted that in the early years baseball teams used pennants rather than flags (hence the practice of calling championships winning the pennant) and there were a host of unofficial manufacturer's variants of these and later fan flags marketed for the Angels and their fans. They included flags, banners, and pennants too numerous to all be shown here.

These are variants of the American "Stars and Stripes" that have been produced for all the MLB teams and displayed by their enthusiastic fans. Some variants have different ratios, have less stripes, more or less stars, but usually attempt to match the team colors schemes.

Colorado Rockies/Boston Red Sox "Divided Loyalties" Flag

These type flags were developed those households with divided loyalties between different teams. In this case, the flag was centered upon the 2007 World Series rival ship of the Colorado Rockies and the Boston Red Soxs. Unfortunately for the Rockies the Red Sox won the championship in a 4-0 sweep that year.

The Colorado Rockies "Mickey Mouse" Flag

This Colorado Rockies Fan Flag features Disney's Mickey Mouse. These flags are now being made for some of the MLB teams by WinCraft and Heartland Flags. This one is also officially licensed by the Colorado Rockies. The Colorado Rockies version of the flag features Disney's Mickey Mouse in a Rockies uniform with bat - the image and wording reads correctly on one side only with the opposite side being backwards which makes it great for hanging on the wall of that man cave.

Colorado Rockies Yacht Flags and Pennants

For those baseball fans who own boats and want to display their team loyalty afloat, these flags are available for them. The flags take the form of either a broad pennant or a square boat flag with either a cap or team logo near the hoist. Each uses the individual team's colors in their designs.
Note: Because of the small size of these nautical broad pennants. usually about a foot tall (approximately 30.48 centimeters), they have also gained popularity as "golf cart" flags. It should also be noted that a broad pennant, or any other flag shape, is only called a "burgee" if it designates an organized boating club.
